Food Blogger Cookie Swap 2011 – Success!

The first annual Food Blogger Cookie Swap was a great success and I’m so glad I participated this year. The swap reminded me of having a pen pal when was young. The pure and simple joy of getting a package (or letter) in the mail brightened my day; and it made me realize that simple acts like this bring a warm personal touch to an impersonal digital world.

A big thanks to Julie @ The Little Kitchen and Lindsay @ Love and Olive Oil for organizing and matching up a whopping 630 participants! I was highly impressed with the care and effort from everyone involved. It seems as if everyone put in 110%. Check out the 3 amazing packages I received!

My first package arrived on Wednesday, December 7th from Anna and Chelsea of HiddenPonies. They sent a dozen Empire Cookies that had the most delicious filling in the middle. They were so yummy and were gone within hours. Thanks so much ladies!

My second package arrived on Thursday, December 8th from the adorable Sharana from Living the Sweet Life. She created the most heavenly Caribbean Sorrel Spiced Cookies – check out the amazing package she sent! They were divine. Thanks so much Sharana!

My third and final package came from the darling Kristy from Victoria @ Gastronomical Sovereignty. I am so glad we connected through the cookie swap because we have quite a bit in common. She sent me the most delicious Andes Chocolate Mint Cookies! Holy Schnikes- these were so good. I hope she posts the recipe soon because I only got to eat a few - Ryan ate the rest! Big Hug, Kristy!

These are the cookies I created for my matches: Callieflower Kitchen, One Gorgeous Girl and Thought Provoked Creation. I went with my favourite, the White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookie.

Again, a HUGE thanks to Julie and Lindsay for organizing this amazing exchange. I look forward to the second annual Food Blogger Cookie Swap 2012!
