about

Hi! I’m Kim. I’m the “strawberry ginger” behind the curtain. After working for 8 years in the advertising world, my husband and I decided to move from Toronto to Ottawa. My husband courageoulsy quit his job in order to go back to Law School at the University of Ottawa- a process which was 2 years in the making. Like a good wifey, I quit my job in advertising too and have come along for the ride. Since moving to Ottawa, I have 2 new hobbies: trying to learn french & cookingbaking. I’m a newbie at both – so much so that I heavily rely on “how-to” videos to figure out how to cut certain veggies.

I have been inspired by several amazing women in the blogosphere who have created beautiful food blogs which have kept me entertained over the last couple of months. I was so inspired, I decided to take a crack at it.

A bit more about me. Besides cooking and baking, I have a love-on for the following things: red wine, documentary films, british humour, iTunes, ridiculously funny youtube videos -like these: example 1, example 2, example 3 -  cold pints in pubs, people who can make me belly laugh, 19th and 20th century history, dogs – especially my pug Lucy, travelling, reading, The Southern USA (I grew up in Atlanta), and of course, my husband, Ryan.
